"Chevron Blogger" Not Dumped By SF Chronicle
This video explains it all:
No one pays me to hold an opinion - I do support Chevron in Ecuador because I think Ecuador's political system is corrupt and anti-American. This is a view I've held for some time, and before I started blogging at SFGate.com. I also happen to feel that there are certain knee jerk non-profits that just make money off challenging oil companies like Chevron, so I took it upon myself to counter them. Balance is needed to get to the truth. I'm not a "Chevron Blogger" but frankly that's not such a bad thing to be.
The fact is the people connected with the Amazon Defense Coalition, in my view, are very racist. They can't stand that someone black has a platform to express views they disagree with. If you take a look at the people involved in their effort, African American faces are no where to be seen, yet they would claim to support people of color in Ecuador. What a joke.
The fact is that people associated with that movement have, over the years, harassed and sent death threats to this blogger. Yet my opinion prevails, and I'm still alive.
Everyone knows that Steve Donziger and the Amazon Defense Coalition have fraudulently secured a court judgement in Ecuador, and in a court that's known for its corruption. Everyone knows that Chevron has not been involved in Ecuador since 1992, and that the state-run oil company, Petroecuador, and several Chinese and Canadian oil companies, and the Brazilian national oil company, have been allowed to spill oil like a drunk barfly spills their cocktails.
Lastly, I was never paid by the SF Chronicle, and generated over $100,000 in add revenue for their website, and a total of over 17 million unique visitors, and created a new form of blogging. The anti-Chevron people just can't stand a black guy who falls outside their idea of what black folks should say and do. They've tried to bully SFGate editors into making me say what the Amazon Defense Coalition wants me to say - I never did. I never will.
The fact is they're trying to twist the truth of a situation they know nothing about, and are too scared to ask me about. Proving that what they really are afraid of is a smart black guy who can think for himself.
As for PR contacts, I get hundreds of press releases and know many PR people all over the World, and I help those people who's views I agree with. That's logical. Well, to anyone with common since, that is.
Stay tuned.

Mission: Impossible Was Controlling Jeremy Renner's Foul-Mouth
According to Zennie62.com Jeremy Renner's went from good actor, to up-and-comer after his breakout movie The Hurt Locker, and now he's a true A-list star, working alongside Tom Cruise and going off to exotic locations like Dubai to shoot, in this case, the newest Mission: Impossible movie, Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol.
Filming in Dubai created trying challenges related to the Middle East heat, and that brought out the worst in Renner. According to a source who worked close to Mr. Renner on the set of Mission: Impossible, the very demanding and well-liked actor was given to the occasional vulgar outburst because of the searing conditions - most famously this one: 'How long am I going to sit here playing with my balls with my tongue?'
Renner was also said to be impatient with others to be ready to go when a scene was about to be made. In all, set workers are faster to blame the heat than Renner, saying that they were pleased to have worked with him.
When things were cool.
Mission:Impossible - Ghost Protocol will be released December 21st.
Stay tuned.

Andronico’s In Berkeley, Out Of Bankrupcy, Open For Business
Concerned that fans and patrons think Andronico’s is totally out of business with the close of its Telegraph Avenue store in Berkeley, the food retailer's went on a big push to let you know they're still going strong, and their facilities on Shattuck Avenue, and on Solono Avenue, both in Berkeley, are still going concerns as the firm emerges from bankruptcy.
[caption id="attachment_13477" align="alignright" width="300" caption="Andronico's "][/caption] The Telegraph Avenue store was the final one to close and marks the end of a financial restructuring program that started last year, and managed to save 375 jobs in the process. Bill Andronico, third generation member of the family which founded the markets, said...
“Investment in the future of Andronico’s Markets can begin now that we are financially stable after the sale of the company to Renovo Capital. Our focus now is to build upon the strong brand built over three generations. We have completed a difficult restructuring process and I am pleased that we have been able to save the business and in the process preserve 375 jobs. We are now fully focused on improving the customer experience and business operations of the remaining stores. The closing of the Telegraph Avenue store became necessary because the property would have been too difficult to bring up to the standards that our customers expect and deserve. As a result the decision was made to close its operation. We are urging customers to shop at the Shattuck or Solano Avenue stores in Berkeley for the Andronico’s experience."
Renovo Capital Promises Reinvestment
Justin Jackson, Chief Operating Officer of Renovo Capital, said that Renovo and Andronico’s focus is on maintaining and investing in the five store that are open now. Jackson said "We have embarked on an ambitious program of significantly improving merchandising and stock conditions now that we are healthy again. Over the next year, we are committed to initiating capital improvements in all locations that will greatly enhance the categories and shopping experience our customers expect in this unique marketplace."
While many did not like that the Berkeley, Telegraph Avenue store closed, the reality is that it was part of the overall reduction of Andronico's store as a whole. At best there were 14 stores, then that dropped to eight in 2010, and now just five. And the opening and popularity of the giant, 55,000 square-foot Whole Foods Store in Oakland only served to hurt Andronico's Telegraph Avenue venue. Renovo Capital's working on maintaining what exists now.
Stay tuned.

Deer hunter stabbed near Drexel this morning
The sheriff's office said it received a 9-1-1 call at about 9:30 a.m. from the hunter who said he had been stabbed by an unknown person.
Deputies and the Drexel Fire Department responded to a wooded area about a mile North of town near East 341st Street and State Line Road where they found a 41-year-old victim in a field who appeared to have been stabbed, police said.
The victim was flown to a Kansas City area hospital for treatment. He is expected to recover, according to police.
The sheriff's office has not yet released any suspect information.
November deer harvest tops last year’s figure
JEFFERSON CITY–Hunters checked 190,089 deer during Missouri’s 11-day November firearms deer hunt, slightly surpassing last year’s figure despite a slow start on opening weekend.
Extremely windy weather, combined with reduced deer populations in some areas, dropped the opening-weekend harvest 10,000 below the 2010 figure. Hunters persevered, however, and more than made up lost ground in the following nine days of the November hunt. In the end, they harvested 1,884 more than last year, a 1-percent increase.
MDC Resource Scientist Jason Sumners said changes to hunting regulations over the past 20 years are responsible for producing more large-antlered deer.
Sumners noted that in 2003, antlered deer made up 37 percent of the November firearms deer harvest. Last year, 40 percent of the harvest consisted of antlered deer. This year, the figure was 43 percent. This narrowing of the gap between doe and buck harvest began with implementation of the four-point rule for antlered deer in 2004.
Missouri’s four-point rule, now in effect in all or parts of 69 counties, allows hunters to shoot an antlered buck only if it has at least four points measuring 1 inch or longer on at least one side. The antler-point restriction allows more bucks to grow trophy antlers while providing effective control of deer numbers.
Sumners said that before implementation of antler-point restrictions, 1.5-year-old bucks made up 40 to 50 percent of the total buck harvest. Today in counties with the antler-point restriction, 1.5-year-old bucks make up 10 to 15 percent of the total buck harvest. After more than four years under antler-point restrictions, 30 to 40 percent of the bucks harvested are 3.5 years and older. That means hunters are seeing and harvesting more larger-antlered adult bucks.
“It’s no wonder the four-point rule has become very popular with hunters,” he said.
MDC has been working for the better part of a decade to balance hunting opportunities against crop damage, deer-vehicle accidents and other problems associated with overabundant deer. The agency’s current challenge is to maintain a healthy, stable deer herd while working with landowners and hunters to fine-tune harvest at the local level.
MDC Director Bob Ziehmer hailed this year’s deer harvest numbers as good news for all Missourians.
“A robust firearms deer harvest is proof of a healthy deer herd that benefits all Missourians, whether they hunt or not,” said Ziehmer. “Resident deer hunters and a significant number of hunters from out of state spend approximately $700 million on their sport. That spending generates more than $1 billion in business activity. In all, deer hunting supports 11,000 Missouri jobs. In these economic times, that’s a big boost to the state’s economy.”

Venison is a Healthy Choice but should be handled with Care
Three ounces of deer meat contains 134 calories and has only three grams of fat. The same amount of beef can contain 259 calories and 18 grams of fat; pork, 214 calories and 13 grams of fat.
Eating fresh venison is not recommended because parasites and tapeworms are common. Freeze venison for 24-48 hours (48 is better) before eating or using it to make sausage or jerky. This will kill parasites and tapeworms. Cooking to 160 degrees will also kill these parasites.
Jerky and sausage made from venison is a favorite in many households. It also must be handled with care to prevent bacterial growth. E.coli is present in the intestinal tract of deer and can survive in homemade jerky and fermented sausages like pepperoni. Jerky made from venison should be steamed, roasted or boiled to 160 degrees before drying.
When cooking, sausage, deer bologna, ground venison, chops, steaks and roasts should reach 160 degrees Fahrenheit. Soups, stews, casseroles and meatloaf should be cooked to 165 degrees. When reheating leftovers, assure they reach 165 degrees. (University of Minnesota Extension Service: Wild Game Cookery: Venison)
Venison can tend to be dry and less tender but there are ways to add moisture and flavor. To decrease the gamey flavor, soak the meat in a solution of two tablespoons of vinegar per quart of water for an hour before cooking. To keep meat from getting too dry, rub the roast with some oil before cooking.
Marinades are a great way to add flavor and also tenderize the meat. Some things venison can be marinated in include French dressing, Italian dressing, tomato sauce, and fruit juice among others. Always marinade meat in the refrigerator and discard the marinade when you cook the meat. You can get too much of a good thing though. Marinating for more than 24 hours can break down the meat fibers and make it mushy.
So, enjoy your hunt but assure your deer is handled safely from field to table.
